Madison College Sweeps Carl Sundberg Behind Effertz No-No

The freshmen struck out nine batters and walked only two batters as he dominated all five innings. The offense helped out their pitcher's cause by striking for 11 runs on 12 hits to put the mercy rule into effect.

The offense stayed hot for game two as the WolfPack scored 13 runs on 16 hits in the 13-4 victory. Tyler Brusky led the way with three hits and five RBI. Ryan Freitag was not far behind as he had two hits and three RBI as well as three runs.

Andrew Murphy picked up the win but struggled through his four innings. Mrkvicka pitched two more scoreless frames and Travis Sindles finished the game with a rough seventh inning.

The Titans finished their trip with the best record of any team in the state at 9-1, making a strong case to move to number one in next weeks edition of the state rankings.
